For this task you are
to describe in detail your pet peeve - or one of them, as we all have many,
really. Look at it from an objective
point of view. Try and see from
"outside" yourself as well as inside.
Think hard about this one and write carefully. Your writing should longer than the following
example attempt to fill at least a page if you run out of ranting material move
on to a different pet peeve.
There are
many things in life which bother me, but one of them is
grocery
lines. Why is it that the longest line
in the supermarket
is always at
the checkout counter which says "Fast Line, 12 items
or
less?" There is usually only one of
these lines and it has to
serve the
most people! There are often six or more
other lanes,
no more than
2 of which are ever open at one time.
Are they put
there to
fool us into thinking we're going to get fast service or
what?
And how come
just as I step up to the register, it seems more
than half
the time the checker has just run out of bags, change,
or can't
find the price for some item and has to call for someone
to go back
on the aisle and find out the shelf price--thereby
taking
another two to three minutes of line standing.
You should get the idea
from that! I'm sure if you thing about
it, you can find many, many thing which bug you. It just takes a little more effort to really
be able to put what bothers you into words, but it is often interesting, both
to yourself and others.
