For this assignment you
are to "tell" a picture. Pretend you are looking through a window
(car or otherwise) or that you are looking at a beautiful painting or
photograph. You could, of course, even
be describing a view through a microscope, telescope, periscope, porthole,
etc. You are to use all your skills of description
to make the listeners of your "picture story" see the same picture as
you do.
Try making use of the
listener's senses, such as touch, hearing, sight, smell and even taste to make
the picture come more to life for them. Imagine all the things you could
describe at the beach, at a barbecue, or dropping in a parachute! Have you ever thought about what it may
really look like
on the moon? What would you
see, feel, hear, smell, experience?
When you are finished,
you are to draw your picture in full color on the back of the page. This
picture story may be read to others to see if they can draw your same picture
by listening to how you describe it.
Write carefully. Use lots of
adjectives.
