Poem #50 Addressed to Cheap Minded Man

Rail of steel imaginations
Saturday to Monday
Peasant traditions of character
Emotions in promiscuous old names
Ribbon between north and south
Isolate marriage fifteen pence two shillings
Some doctors expression a grain of urgent truth
Addressed to cheap minded man
Rich with passion and short of excitement
Going after heat of something that destroys us
To witness some love borrowed from time
Beside useless spirit to play uniformed games
Escape error of genius save beauty the crowns
The eternal ward against in prescriptions
Venomously grimly cut from flash female
Deadly inquisition revolution beauty itself
Day idle power their faces lathing seriously
A passing lust sun of misspells
Sadness silent birds broken of word
Paid for watching no detail
Imperfect foam of no hope
slowly forming habitable ideals blanketed
by young stripped light of love for money
brittle second look shaking
that answer yes the tune drops white of dark gloom
upon the shore of vivid trembling truth
sick little flesh my river of tears flowing from mouth
glided down half troubled eyes of practical voice
too late strange head you cannot see snails rising.
All bearded in life’s sea monster
It came swimming you said thought it was behind wires
Body held playfully the surface boiling
The spring empty of water.
