Poem #116 Friction Required

Kick like amen
Kiss like a plague
Lie like someone mean and measured
Live like ends and multitude
Everything else a cavity of details
Drawn into life with a
wail, clip, and clasp,

only to  shudder, dwindle and die.

Poem #112 I Loved My Friend

I loved my friend
Imperfectly understood
He went away from me
No one to blame for this
The odds against it are encouraging
Still I want to be happy
Until I know:  That line lies

I love my friend.

Poem #101 Viva Voce

They’d been playing for a funny
Screwed up his red eyes
In the house
There’s people I don’t like
Studying through
The telephone telling morning over
Something out hung up Young man
With all your stories
Be polite introduce people
Fell down dead
Don’t ask a lot of questions
I’d know the truth about exactly what happened
A curious case down the gravel path
Give you a lead until you get the statement
So horrified by the sight: Man with the red nose
Laid them on top of the ready pile of jammed powder
I’ve tasted the luck been my very worst friend,
Beginning to the end a touch hangin’ round by his coffin
A minute before morning
Drunk out beer bitter hanging
Laid on the shelf
Tell him for hours
In fountains of air,

Eyes flood, salty sea.

Poem #70: Advertisements paper clip fairy tales

Advertisements paper clip fairy tales to a
lazy luscious lie trudge
effort needed for this frivolous errand
Scream some elaborate fantasy fast
Watch want life like like
her, him, picture one need
dream delirious cut off channel
fed moments promise to me,

Over someone’s lather

Poem #53 Tender Queen Spin

Opiate envy melodies of that numberless summer
Vintage tasting of warm south
Blushful purple stained lips
Drink dissolve in silent words forgotten
Because though has never known
Where  youth shakes trees
To make the apples fall
Beauty, love, tomorrow pined
To hide behind those dark painted curtains for eyes
Charioted on the viewless dull brain
Tender queen spin around where there is no light
To save her from your ways steel the flower
darkness a blanket to listen to silent
half love mused rhyme an ecstasy thou sing
no hungry days, only sad heart tears charmed
it was so large then like a bell
a tune longed forgotten by a stream that did end
do I wake or sleep to know this pleasure
silent sweetly haunted legend of men gods.
secrets sung into awakened eyes
thoughtlessly fair creatures
a few words misguided
to fall and give to the winged boy
a message not untrue
loveliest hierarchy
no, no oracle
 no oracle
O brightest too late to catch
The silent maiden
Thy voice a lute does so quickly spread
And build the frame of mind
That antiquity longs to have forgotten
Wretched one without a name
fancy never bread to joy dressed to darker days
youth is ages misgiving, a quite long hope

for wisdom that never spoke.

Poem #48 About Being Woman

It doesn’t hurt. It isn’t anything
Gathering embers
Remarkably reasonable
Guilty conscious in one
Expansive grin
Driving home on her forehead
Stop please
Her hand upon the splash-board
Beautiful
Need to fix the man’s eyes
Bent forward
Pretty querulous
Added pity
Her too long and gravely beyond him
Gone
What do you mean
My wife
You’d been telling
I suppose you lied
To do with you double insult
Go on saying plans
Dishonorable eyes
Her whelps
Only an ordinary good woman
Desperation of course swore
Yes forward fainting
What did I tell you
Unbroken light
Passion protestations
Oh you brute
Get her into my room
Until you be quite
Storm of lady’s wrath
Jealousy
Himself discovered
Good looking bad liar
Quickly please?
Some sort of idiotic
“satisfaction”
For her amazing
Indiscretion

Broken off so easy

Poem 30# Pretend

Interview practical joker
In the parlor a gentleman
We never saw his face
Old meadows heart simply stopped
Very shocked brokenhearted
Death did not make him
More than an announcement
Story ends two days after the funeral
Scattered brained
A monster one hundred chubby little moment
Wrinkled her nose
Cautious craned neck a million times
Pressed together a line of her forehead
Too late heavy feet emerged
No answer would do, snatcher her up
All the world like a metronome counting off seconds
Scurried don’t peek for cover
Eyes swept a bit of colorful gleaming
Pointed straight at gross unfairness
Fired of playing hide and seek
With myself careful side to side
Come on give me a ride
Full prospect
If you don’t
I won’t tell you any more fairy tales so there
Seventy degrees on the other side
Carry me back uneasiness to shout
With pity presence whirl towards
She doesn’t need you now
Let him stay Cinderella.
Cinderella wasn’t pleased when
His wife walked in
Still Sunday afternoon in utter solitude:

Pretend.

Poem #7 Gather you famine and bigotry

My country! My country!
On the neck like a day owned husband.
suppered strange men
with the little news— gone stray
sit right down to his choicest lies
three miles away wears a silk dress
make mischief back up bewailing
slackers, clackers, crackers,
schooling an argument
failing to move me
entitled happiness wild and wooly
representation of deeply sorry days
underdrawn by my country
my country!
my country amazed me
together the language was
blushed similar terms of common sense
forgotten in sermons
selling these bewildered ears anything
one child the devil
because he said something complimentary
forgotten little fortune
nothing like America
why?

Gather you famine and bigotry
